Excellence in Engineering & Project Management Services

Nord Stream

Client: Nord Stream AG

Across more than a decade of engineering support, CONSUB has provided flexible and expert services at every stage of the project. Our work mitigated countless points of mechanical failure, potentially saving the client millions of dollars. Overall, we increased the reliability, reduced maintenance, increased compliance with integrity performance criteria and reduced the environmental impact of the pipeline system.

Background

The Nord Stream pipeline system consists of two 48” diameter, 1,224 km natural gas pipelines, running through the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany. The twin pipelines, which have been operational since 2011 and 2012 respectively, have the capacity to transport a combined total of 55 bcm of natural gas per year. Included in the pipeline system are two landfall facilities, where the offshore pipelines tie into the onshore pipelines, pig traps and associated pipework.

CONSUB entered into an agreement with Nord Stream for the provision of engineering services to support the operations maintenance management team for the pipeline system.
